so you are saying we would sometimes be in situations where we are driving and there are sharp nails, etc flying about 5" off the ground that would get caught by the deflector and then get deflected *downwards* towards the tires and puncture them? The gauge/softness of this aluminum would not come close to shredding a tire. They would also bend pretty easily if hit. If you are really worried you can install these just for the track, they can be put on/taken off pretty easily. I have been testing these since April, I have been to 3-4 track events, been off track at least that many times, over both grass and gravel. I have also been daily driving with them since April. The only damage in all this time was a slight bend on one of the edges on one deflector.
